Located just off Scenic Byway 143, this large mountain lake is popular for trout fishing and boating in the summer months and ice fishing in the winter. Panguitch Lake is actually one of the most popular fishing spots in southern Utah. Several ATV, mountain biking and horseback riding trails branch out from the lake, making this spot a center for adventure.
The lake is situated high on the Colorado Plateau at an elevation of 8,400 feet. A forest of ponderosa pines covers the campground, which lies on a hillside about a quarter-mile above the lake. Deer and elk are often seen in the area.
